She won Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Supporting actress in a drama series in 2013 and 2014 for her role as Skyler White on The AMC Drama Series Breaking Bad. Gunn was born in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Her parents were both interior designers Sharon Anna Kathryn Shana Gunn and Clemens Gunn Junior. She graduated from Santa Fe Preparatory School in 1986. She studied theatre and received her degree from Northwestern University with a theatre degree. Gunn went to an academy called the British American Drama Academy for a semester in fall 1988. Pamela Adlon was her housemate after Gunn moved from Laurel Canyon Los Angeles. Gunn was famous for playing Skyler White in Breaking, the AMC series Breaking. Between 2013 and 2014, she was awarded the Primetime Emmy Award in Outstanding Supporting Female Actor in Drama Series. In August 2013 she wrote a piece of op-ed for The New York Times that focused on the negative reaction of viewers of her role.
